Task Automation vs Workflow Automation

Automating a task and automating a workflow are related, but they are not always the same thing.

Task automation handles one repeatable action. For example, automatically sending a confirmation email after a form is submitted.

Workflow automation looks at what happens before and after that action as well.

The form might need to create a customer record, route the request to a particular department, request approval, generate documentation, update a dashboard and notify somebody if no action has been taken within two days.

Why We Don’t Sell Automation by Package Size

Ten simple automations can require less work than one complex business workflow.

A low monthly action count does not necessarily mean a simple implementation, and a larger workflow does not automatically require an expensive custom platform.
